Our day started off by freeing Alexander! Friends worked really hard at making sure that there was no part of Alexander (as you may recall, we turned him into flubber last week), left in the vase. It took a lot of hard work but we are happy to say that Alexander is back into person form and doing great!
Friends are really enjoying our new toy, Bristle Blocks. Some friends made trains, towers, magical wands and even monsters!
Since it is Monday we went to see a Moose about a mustache or we had Movement with Missy! Missy brought in jump ropes and we pretended that they were snakes and we had to jump over them. We also made different shapes out of our jump ropes; hearts, lollipops, strawberries and bananas.
Missy also taught us how to play Duck Duck Goose! We has so much fun chasing our friends around. The best part was that all of our friends wore their fast running shoes so it was really hard to catch one another.
After Duck Duck Goose we got to play with the blocks and balls, which we love to do!
When we got back to our room we had Morning Meeting and a Moment of Silence. We have been singing our songs like monsters which is pretty scary!! We read a new book, How Do Dinosaurs Eat Their Food? While we read, we learned a new word: Setting. During the story, we paid attention not only to the characters, but to their surroundings. We used clues from the pictures to figure out if the characters were outside or inside, and even what room in the house they might be in. We will use this new knowledge to think about different Settings for the book that we are working on.
During Morning Meeting we realized that Danielle went missing! She video chatted us on Carol's phone and gave us clues as to where she might be. (Some of the same kind of clues we used when we read our book today). We learned that she was outside because she was wearing her coat and mittens. She then showed us clues of what was around her. So we quickly put our coats on and WE FOUND HER! She was on the big climber! She was happy that we were such good detectives because she almost turned into an icicle while she was waiting for us.
We came back inside for Choice Time. We bake heart shaped cookies that we decorated as well as continued working on a top secret Valentine's Day present!
We then headed out to play in the snow!!
