The Little Frogs spent part of their morning opening things - new stuff for our room (including "snowballs"). It is just plain fun to open stuff, but it's also a really good activity for little hands. Whenever you buy something that needs torn open (except those things shrouded in that hard plastic shrapnel), give it to your tiny person and let them have at it (make sure you're not in a hurry).
The Flubber came back out and we experimented with mixing the colors together and using scissors on it. Flubber cuts more easily than paper, and is also great practice.
Next, it was time for Movement class - we have been missing Missy! We Hokied and we Pokied, we skated on paper plates, we marched with musical instruments, and we kicked soccer balls. The Little Frogs LOVE Movement class!
Back at Morning Meeting, we tried our Moment of Silence with the gong - listening hard to see how long the sound went on. Then we read a new book - Skippyjon Jones. Friends really enjoyed it - laughing at all the funny names that Skippyjon's mom calls him. Then, Alexander told the class about his upcoming trip to London. They were excited to learn that it is the place where Mary Poppins lives, and that it is all the way across the ocean. We are hoping to be able to send some messages back and forth while he is gone, and we talked about how much we will miss each other.
Friends also got to decide if they felt like telling a story in front of the video camera, and signed up for turns.
Then, we rushed down to the Turtle room for a brief dance party that they had invited us to, before returning for snack. Then, we headed outside, while some friends took turns coming in to tell their stories.
