Welcome to the Little Frog Families!

This is the site of our Daily Frog Blog, and one of the ways you can keep up with all the exciting goings on in the Little Frog's classroom. Every day, we will post news about our activities, reflections about the things we are learning, and lots of pictures (and sometimes even mini-movies). On the right side of the blogs is a link called, "Follow by email." If you sign up for this, the blog will be sent directly to your inbox. We encourage you to invite extended family members and interested friends to follow our blog, too.

Our First Flip Flop Day

Today was the first of what we hope will be weekly "Flip Flop Days." Since we can't do Inside Outside Days (keeping the door open when it's this cold is just not environmentally conscious thing to do), we've decided to do a kind of classroom exchange with our friends the Turtles. We are still testing out exactly how best to do this but, today we simple divided our classes in half and sent half to the other classroom. After about a half hour, we switched groups. All of the friends enjoy the novelty of being in different spaces, and friendships have begun to form across our two classes. For the Little Frogs, there is the added benefit of playing with a slightly older group. For example, the Turtles  are relative experts in dramatic play, and they are happy to bring the Frog's in.
For now, simply switching spaces will provide enough challenge and interest for our kids. As we progress, we hope to have different activities specific to each room, and allow friends to make choices based on their interests.

During this morning's free time, we were artists and puppeteers...

...puzzle makers and musicians.

At Morning Meeting, we held hands for our Moment of Silence.

Then we talked about Alexander and his trip, and wrote some messages to him. Danielle read a Fairytale about the Sun, Wind and Frost.

Next, we headed outside:

Then, we came in for a new story, Moosetache, about a moose with a problematic moustache.

Then we all said a big hello to Alexander!

Our thoughts for Alexander:

Dear Alexander,
Evan says, “I love you, love you.”
J Miles says, “I love Alexander.” And “Dear Alexander, I love Alexander.”
Lucas says,  “Actually, he’s nice.” and “Don’t be silly!”
Mason says, “Can you come to my house?”
Hannah says, “Let’s see if we can talk in the computer.” And “Duckie”
Danielle says, “Are you having fun?”
Kevin says, “15 years ago was snow on everywhere.”
Elise says, “Knock-knock,” (you say Who’s there?) “Potato” (you say Potato who?) “Potato love.”
Cameron says, “Hi." and “I don’t know what I don’t know.”
Carol says, “We miss you!”
