Welcome to the Little Frog Families!

This is the site of our Daily Frog Blog, and one of the ways you can keep up with all the exciting goings on in the Little Frog's classroom. Every day, we will post news about our activities, reflections about the things we are learning, and lots of pictures (and sometimes even mini-movies). On the right side of the blogs is a link called, "Follow by email." If you sign up for this, the blog will be sent directly to your inbox. We encourage you to invite extended family members and interested friends to follow our blog, too.

A Surprise Letter

Today, we got a letter from a couple of guinea pigs - Nellie and Princess Froggy. They want to come and live in our room, and asked the Frogs a very important question:

If we come to live in your room, will you take care of us?

The Little Frogs replied with many questions of their own:

Little Frogs’
Questions (and Comments)
About Guinea Pigs
How do we take care of them?
     How big are they?
    What do they eat?
Can we pet them? (many friends asked this question).
Do they live in a house?
I like guinea pigs when I like them.
Can more than one person like the guinea pigs?
Is there yellow outside (I saw a bee)?
What does my mom think about them?
    Can we pick them up?

So, we have decided that we need to do a little research to answer our questions, before we write back to the guinea pigs with our answer.

First thing this morning, we found some new blocks and new puzzles in our room. The Little Frogs are both great builders and very interested in working on puzzles.

We were outside early today, in preparation for our Movement class with Missy.

In Movement, we stretched and danced...

...then Missy put out the instruments, and we had a parade.

Next, there we got to drive a bus, and a fire truck and crawl through a bunch of tunnels. Many of the Frogs became firefighters and quite a few lives were saved.

We had our snack outside, since it was such a beautiful day.

Then we went inside for Morning Meeting. That's when the letter came and our questions began.

For the first time, at today's morning meeting, we asked friends the question, "What do you want to play with during Choice Time?" Having specific "Centers" open and encouraging friends to think about what they want to do is something that will become part of our regular routing.

Today, friends played with the new puzzles and blocks and trucks, discussed the letter from the guinea pigs, read books and drew pictures.

After we cleaned up (which the Little Frogs are getting better at), we read a book about spiders and talked about the many thing we have already learned, as well as things we still want to know.
