Welcome to the Little Frog Families!

This is the site of our Daily Frog Blog, and one of the ways you can keep up with all the exciting goings on in the Little Frog's classroom. Every day, we will post news about our activities, reflections about the things we are learning, and lots of pictures (and sometimes even mini-movies). On the right side of the blogs is a link called, "Follow by email." If you sign up for this, the blog will be sent directly to your inbox. We encourage you to invite extended family members and interested friends to follow our blog, too.

A Most Excellent Science Friday

This morning we caught a spider in the bathroom. This turned out to be a good thing, given that we were on our way to the lower school to visit Roseanne the Science Teacher, and talk to her about spiders (and other insects).

It was an extremely beautiful day and we enjoyed our walk, both inside and out. Several classes of "Big Kids" invited us in to say hello on our way by.

When we got to the Science Room, Roseanne was waiting for us. She started showing us things right away. Even the ceiling was covered with pictures - including some spiders!

She had an aquarium full of Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches. When she went to take one out, they hissed!

If we wanted, we could hold it. It was fascinating (and not as creepy as it looks).

Then Roseanne read us a book about spiders - it had all kinds of amazing kinds of spiders, including ones that spit and jump and fish for food. She let us borrow the book, so we can look at it some more.

Then, she showed us a beautiful courtyard and we decided that it would be the perfect place to release our spider.

Next, we went to visit our friend Nancy, and tell her about our adventures and sing her our new song. She gave us animal crackers and we thanked her.

We saw many interesting sights on our adventure, and came back with even more questions than we 'd had before.

When we got back, we decided to just stay outside, because it was such a gorgeous day. We had our snack out at the picnic table and we even had a story under a tree.

At lunch, we talked about our many adventures. After we had done all of our jobs, we got to hold Princess Froggy. This was her first time being held and petted by tiny people, and she seemed to enjoy it. It was a most excellent day!
