Welcome to the Little Frog Families!

This is the site of our Daily Frog Blog, and one of the ways you can keep up with all the exciting goings on in the Little Frog's classroom. Every day, we will post news about our activities, reflections about the things we are learning, and lots of pictures (and sometimes even mini-movies). On the right side of the blogs is a link called, "Follow by email." If you sign up for this, the blog will be sent directly to your inbox. We encourage you to invite extended family members and interested friends to follow our blog, too.

Getting Our Questions Answered

There was a lot of interest in reading and writing today. This started with some of the new books, moved to the pencil sharpener, and eventually to writing notes and names. We also checked out our tents - carrying them around a beginning to think about how we were going to get all of our stuff over there. We went to see Debbie Green to ask her if we could get some camels. She said she was going to the Acme, and she would check to see whether they had any. We told her we would need four.

After snack, we had a brief Morning Meeting to continue planning for our upcoming camping trip. The Little Frogs are incredibly excited, and we have picked the date - NEXT FRIDAY! We have much to do in the meantime. First on the agenda was to call and reserve our spot. This done, we got ready to go over to the Parks and Recreation Office to ask them some of our questions.

We got on our boots and raincoats and headed out. We had already discussed what would happen if it started to rain (We would get wet!).

When we got to the Art Center, there was a truck there that said, "Tents and Events" on the side. We were thinking that we just could have had our tents delivered.

We checked out the map, to see where we would be going.

And, after chasing quite a few butterflies, we headed up the hill to get our questions answered.

It took us awhile, because there were quite a few butterflies on the hill.

We headed up the swirly stairs.

Stopped to admire the sailboat sculpture.

And found the sign with an arrow, telling us which way to go.

The people in the Parks and Recreations Office were very helpful. We found out that:
1. There are no sharks in the pond. There use to be, but they got a lot of complaints, so they moved him out (I loved the Parks and Recreation guy!)
2. There are snapping turtles!
3. We can fish. (We will be making fishing poles next week)
4. We can cook on the grills
5. We will have fun!

We stopped to look at some of the art inside the Art Center.

When we went back outside, we ran into the kindergarten classes! We shared adventures with them.

Then we headed back, because WE WERE STARVING!

NOTE: We will be walking over to the Acme next Wednesday to buy our food for lunch. Friends have requested hot dogs, and we were planning on getting the all beef or chicken dogs. Please let us know if your child will be able to eat these, or if you would prefer an alternative. We will post the rest of our menu, once we have finalized it (marshmallows have also made the list).
