The Little Frogs were very busy this morning. there was a conference concerning the Mr. Potatoheads...
...and several discussions about the properties of flubber.
Then one friend discovered that he could twirl a bead inside a funnel (using centrifugal force), which started everyone experimenting with different size funnels and various shaped beads. The young scientists at work.
We had music with Jenny, and got to sing some of our favorite songs, like, At the Aquarium, which comes with lots of fishy puppets.
Jenny also brought instruments to share with us - many different kinds of percussion and shakers.
We also played imaginary instruments and had a parade!
At Morning Meeting, some friends tried their Moment of Silence with their eyes covered.
Then we read the story, The Cat in the Hat. The Frogs loved this book!
For our new and improved Choice Time, we had a new selection, fingerpainting. This proved very popular with some friends. who were thrilled at how messy and colorful their hands became.
The puppets came out again and, this time, a team of Little Frogs headed downstairs to find the puppet theater. With supervision, this eager and strong group of four managed to bring this large and heavy object all the way up from the basement to our room. We are just beginning to figure out how to put on a show, although we are pretty good at the part where we pull the curtain back dramatically and yell, "TA-DAH!!!"
We also had Dramatic Play as a choice for the first time today. We explained to friends that this is the kind of play where you pretend and use your imagination (they are familiar with the play, just not the phrase). So today, some friends built and rode motorcycles, some were doctors to ailing dragons, and many brought puppets and stuffed animals to life.
Then, we did a weather check and discovered that the rain had stopped, so we had some time to head outside.
