Welcome to the Little Frog Families!

This is the site of our Daily Frog Blog, and one of the ways you can keep up with all the exciting goings on in the Little Frog's classroom. Every day, we will post news about our activities, reflections about the things we are learning, and lots of pictures (and sometimes even mini-movies). On the right side of the blogs is a link called, "Follow by email." If you sign up for this, the blog will be sent directly to your inbox. We encourage you to invite extended family members and interested friends to follow our blog, too.

Rhinoceros

Our morning began around the tables - first looking at some birds seed bears that a friend of Carol's gave her and trying to figure out how we were going to hang them in what trees, then with the spontaneous invention of some table games (that started off as puzzles).

Before we knew it, it was time for Movement Class. We started off with musical chairs, and then played games with jump ropes. Missy also got out some new balls - soft cubes and footballs - and we stacked them, threw them, caught them and kicked them.

After snack, we had Morning Meeting. We sang some monster songs and read a new monster book, One Hungry Monster.

It received many thumbs up.

After a few "Ring Around the Rosie's," we gathered for a meeting about our book. Carol had printed out a picture of a rhinoceros (one of our characters), from the Internet, and we met to make the character all together. Friends decided that the rhinoceros's body should be blue, and was shaped like a rectangle. We kept looking closely at the picture and figuring out what else our character needed, and friends took turns adding new shapes and parts.

Then we headed out for some adventure. The Little Frogs kept trying to guess what Danielle had in her giant bag - and she kept telling them it was different kinds of animals.

Meanwhile, a couple more friends got to take photographs of things interesting and beautiful.

When we arrived at the tennis courts, Danielle first took out some arches, and told friends that we were going to crawl under them. The Little Frogs were not buying it.

Next, she tossed out a LOT of balls, and we rolled them through the arches. We played many different games while we were there, before it was time to head back inside.
