Welcome to the Little Frog Families!

This is the site of our Daily Frog Blog, and one of the ways you can keep up with all the exciting goings on in the Little Frog's classroom. Every day, we will post news about our activities, reflections about the things we are learning, and lots of pictures (and sometimes even mini-movies). On the right side of the blogs is a link called, "Follow by email." If you sign up for this, the blog will be sent directly to your inbox. We encourage you to invite extended family members and interested friends to follow our blog, too.

Is that a Crocodile??

This morning the friends worked really hard at putting together a Finding Nemo puzzle. It took a lot of work but they figured it out!

Once we finished putting together the puzzle we had a sword fight. But safety first!!! So we wore our safety helmets and goggles. If you hit a friend in the head you have to bow and say "I am so sorry", although most friends just enjoy the bending and "I sorry" part.

One friend read her fox a book and put him to sleep!

Next, it was time for Music with Jenny! Today was extra special because we got to have Music in our classroom!

Jenny let us play the drum again which we love!

Then we used rhythm sticks to copy different beats.

And we went on a march, singing, "The Ants Go Marching," and tapping along.

Next, we got ready to go outside.

We played on the playground for a bit, then went to check on our stick house.

We were testing out the sticks, when someone noticed something over by the swamp.

We went to investigate.

It was a CROCODILE!!!!

Carefully, we approached. Then Danielle (who may or may not have had crocodile wrangling experience), went to see if she could tame the beast.

When she finally had it subdued, we had a meeting to decide what to do with it. The final decision: take it to live in our room.

It took a lot of teamwork to bring it back.

We invited it to Morning Meeting, and sang it a crocodile song. We had a discussion about whether it
was a boy or girl. The Little Frogs argued adamantly that it was a boy. One friend asserted that you could tell, because it has "a mean face." We came up with a list of possible names. We will keep you posted on our decision.

We read some more poems from Monster Motel, which led to a continuation of our gender debate. There was a majority feeling that most monsters are male, and we pushed our friends to think about how they came to this conclusion. Undoubtedly, this conversation is not over.

Next, we gathered together to make "Mush." The first ingredient is toilet paper, and friends were delighted to have the chance to unroll a bunch of paper. We added soap and warm water and smushed it all together. Many friends enjoyed the sensory experience and, once it was good and mushy, we could make things out of it, like snowmen!

We ended our morning with a dance party.
