Welcome to the Little Frog Families!

This is the site of our Daily Frog Blog, and one of the ways you can keep up with all the exciting goings on in the Little Frog's classroom. Every day, we will post news about our activities, reflections about the things we are learning, and lots of pictures (and sometimes even mini-movies). On the right side of the blogs is a link called, "Follow by email." If you sign up for this, the blog will be sent directly to your inbox. We encourage you to invite extended family members and interested friends to follow our blog, too.

Frogs to the Rescue!

This morning the Frog's got out a brand new machine and spent some time guessing what it might be. We finally figured out what it was, and then began discussing the word "ingredients." Most were certain that their parents had "gredients" at home, and they had some good guesses about what some ingredients were (like spices, and milk).  We gathered up the ingredients we would need and went back to our room. Many of the friends helped to count out the cups and teaspoons.

Then we turned it on and every watched it "galoop!"
Tomorrow we will turn our pizza dough into pizza.

Then we had a snowball fight!

At Morning Meeting, we had to first put all of our sillies in a pile in the middle of the circle, and then have our Moment of Silence.

We then revisited our riddle book...if friends thought the joke was funny, they were suppose to laugh really loud, and if they didn't think it was funny, they were suppose to frown hard and put thumbs down. Almost all friends laughed hysterically because its just really hard not to. Then we read a new book, Block City, which is based on a poem by Robert Louis Stevenson, about a child who creates an amazing world out of blocks. It got almost all thumbs up from the Frog Critics.

For Choice Time, the Little Frogs moved between the sandbox (complete with a family of dinosaurs), color mixing with the finger paints, books, dramatic play and the easel.

After some time to play on the playground, we discovered a problem! There was a huge pile of packages that were delivered to our building by mistake. They belonged to our friend, Roseanne, who teaches Science over in the Lower School. When we asked friends what we should do, they decided that we should deliver them! So we picked them up and headed on our way.

We passed the giant monkey head...

...our friends the third graders...

...skulls made of sugar and paint...

...and dragons on the wall!

After we made our delivery (and visited the fish and turtles in the room), we went out to play on the Kindergarten playground. One of the pre-k classes were out, and we made some new friends.

On the way back, we stopped to climb on the rock pile. Back in the room, we read another fairy tale about delivering 12 packages, and talked about how similar it was to our morning. At lunch, we told another group story, which is fast becoming a favorite activity.
