Welcome to the Little Frog Families!

This is the site of our Daily Frog Blog, and one of the ways you can keep up with all the exciting goings on in the Little Frog's classroom. Every day, we will post news about our activities, reflections about the things we are learning, and lots of pictures (and sometimes even mini-movies). On the right side of the blogs is a link called, "Follow by email." If you sign up for this, the blog will be sent directly to your inbox. We encourage you to invite extended family members and interested friends to follow our blog, too.

Perfect Ways to Spend a Rainy Day

This morning we checked in on our mung (or monkey) beans, and discovered that they have already started to sprout.

They look a lot like the picture in our book.

Klem, our pillow person, got his legs today, and spent some time being moved about the room. Klem's full name is "Klem Batchkem," which includes the first letter of each of the Little Frog's names.

We worked a bit more on our faces,

and beading our stick mobile.

As well as general repairs and upkeep.

After a long absence, we finally reopened our sandbox this morning. It was a very popular play spot.

Our light box also found a new home - shining right on our cozy box.

At Morning Meeting, we read two books about the many different colors people come in: All the Colors of the Earth, and Shades of Black. We studied each other's hair and eyes, and laughed to think about whether we were the color of cookies or chocolate or popcorn or pretzels.

Next, we donned our boots and raincoats and gathered with the Turtles on the playground. With key in hand, we headed off for the Triangle gym. We buddied up, so that we could safely cross the street.

When we arrived, we took off our boots and coats and RAN! The space was big and we had plenty of room to race about. Soon, balls were flying around the room.

Then, balloons appeared. We played all kinds of kicking and throwing and catching and bouncing and cheering games. It was wonderful.

After a storytelling lunch, all of our friends settled in for a much needed nap. A good way to spend a rainy day.
