Welcome to the Little Frog Families!

This is the site of our Daily Frog Blog, and one of the ways you can keep up with all the exciting goings on in the Little Frog's classroom. Every day, we will post news about our activities, reflections about the things we are learning, and lots of pictures (and sometimes even mini-movies). On the right side of the blogs is a link called, "Follow by email." If you sign up for this, the blog will be sent directly to your inbox. We encourage you to invite extended family members and interested friends to follow our blog, too.

A Grand Reunion

Today, almost all of the Little Frogs were back, and we were SO HAPPY to see each other! We did all kinds of things, in our room and out and about. For Free Choice time we painted with watercolors, reconnected with the guinea pigs (who came out of their cage to be petted),

and checked out some of the new items in our dramatic play area.

We discovered an empty tub, which is almost exactly Little Frog size!

And lots of new books in the book area for Firefighters on their break.

Our new dragon was also quite popular.

At Morning Meeting, we had another lovely Moment of Silence, and all the Frogs shouted, "I DID IT!" - a very noisy end to the quiet.

We read a new book called, Kevin and His Dad - which we thought was funny, because we have a Frog named Kevin, and he has a Dad named Kevin!

After MM, we all put our coats (and hats and mittens) on and went for a run! We raced to the Puddle Tree and back again. Then we came back inside, because it was FREEZING outside!

We had lots to do in our room. The block area was open, and lots of building was going on. Danielle helped friends figure out how to take turns and who would get to knock over the tower, and when.

Other friends went to the Art Area to work with stickers and stamps.

Then, we made play dough. It takes lots of measuring and counting and stirring.

Next, we bundled up again to take a walk over to the Lower School. We had books to return to the library.

On the way, we stopped to listen to the band playing.

And to look at all of the neat art and displays on the walls.

We stopped in to the kindergarten classroom, because we had some questions to ask them. We wanted to know what the deal is with losing teeth. Turns out many of the kindergartners have lost teeth, and they were eager to share their stories with us.

They are working on turning heir room into an airport, and they invited us to come back and see it when it's finished. We bundled back up and headed to our room for lunch and conversation. It was good to be together again.

Happy New Year!

It was a chilly and off schedule start to our New Year, so there were only a few Frogs back with us today. Those who came had a lovely reunion - with lots of hugs and laughter and storytelling.

Carol and Danielle were also in over break, so there have been some new additions to the room. There were firefighter jackets.

This turned out to be fortunate, since a GIANT FIREBREATHING DRAGON has moved into our room!

There are also some new problem-solving puzzles that needed figuring out.

And, of course, our friends the guinea pigs were eager to see their friends and be fed (after sleeping under several blankets last night).

We had Morning (or Afternoon) Meeting. Everyone criss-crossed and we had a very beautiful Moment of Silence.

Then we read a new book called, appropriately enough, If I Had a Dragon."

We ate a leisurely lunch and shared stories about what we had done over break. At the Frog's request, Carol told several "monster Halloween stories," and we were all scared together. Danielle read another new book called, Piggies, while friends finished their lunches.

Then, the Little Frog's got out their sleeping bags and we read, sang songs and listened to music until everyone fell asleep for a short nap. When the Frog's wake, we'll have snack an make ourselves some new playdough!

We cannot wait to reconnect with the rest of our friends!
