Welcome to the Little Frog Families!

This is the site of our Daily Frog Blog, and one of the ways you can keep up with all the exciting goings on in the Little Frog's classroom. Every day, we will post news about our activities, reflections about the things we are learning, and lots of pictures (and sometimes even mini-movies). On the right side of the blogs is a link called, "Follow by email." If you sign up for this, the blog will be sent directly to your inbox. We encourage you to invite extended family members and interested friends to follow our blog, too.

A Big Adventure!

The day began in all the typical ways:

Saying hi to our guinea pig friends...

Discovering another spider web-- this time using the light box...

A little dancing to get the heart beating...

And measuring, pouring, and mixing up some sand cakes-- just like we do when making playdough!

The ordinary Thursday became extraordinary when Jenny brought in her psaltry and let us stroke the bow on the strings.

We had to hold the bow carefully on the wooden part.

As we all took our turn playing the blaaah, we realized that each Little Frog made a sound a little different from one another-- each note was as unique as the person holding the bow!

Jenny played "Bah Bah Black Sheep" on the psaltry, which coincidentally also sounds like "ABCs" and "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star."

After some songs about apple-picking and pumpkin farms, we said goodbye to Jenny, and eagerly awaited our outdoor adventure.

The Little Frogs can't seem to go anywhere without finding a spider or a spiderweb.  They must have extra spidey senses!  Perhaps it's the frog in them?

Finally, it was time to embark on our very special adventure!

We had to hold a Frog friend's hand while walking on our adventure, and Carol used a stop sign to stop the traffic so we could cross the road!

While walking up the hill to our surprise destination, we picked flowers and shared them with friends.  We also heard a very loud family of birds, and when we followed their noises, we saw them flying high above us.  Another special discovery was a tree with blocks going all the way up the inside of the tree.  We wondered how they came to be in the tree, who put them there, and how they reached so high.

Once we came around the corner, we were at the Abington Art Center, and the Little Frogs were so excited by wat they saw, they screamed with glee!

There was a giant stage to run on and jump off...

 and a crookedy playhouse.

We decoded to have our snack on the stage. We had some cupcakes left over from yesterday (Miles mom brought them for a special treat), and they tasted even better outside.

There was a very grassy hill with a bell at the top.

We ran into our friends the Turtles, and they stayed to play with us.

We did a lot of climbing.

Then we found the Giant Echo Room - where we could run fast and our voices echoed loudly.

There was some sculpture with mouths on it...

and another made of wood that we could climb and balance on.

It was a great adventure!
