Welcome to the Little Frog Families!

This is the site of our Daily Frog Blog, and one of the ways you can keep up with all the exciting goings on in the Little Frog's classroom. Every day, we will post news about our activities, reflections about the things we are learning, and lots of pictures (and sometimes even mini-movies). On the right side of the blogs is a link called, "Follow by email." If you sign up for this, the blog will be sent directly to your inbox. We encourage you to invite extended family members and interested friends to follow our blog, too.

Little Explorers Find Adventures

The Little Frogs came in the room with very curious minds today. Immediately, they began to notice some different things around the room. They looked at new pictures, puzzles that were out and some things that had gone up on the bulletin board. Then, they discovered the tape! Then they were off discovering the many things you can do with tape.

Tape pictures were made, things were taped together, looooong pieces of tape were stretched across the room, and tape "leashes" were put on pretend puppies. Many of the friends got out scissors and helped each other cut different colors and sizes of tape.

Then, our friends the Turtles showed up and invited us to come and watch their "Clean Up Show!" They even brought us tickets. So, we each took a ticket and went down to the Turtle Room.

We watched them clean up their room at amazing speed, although I must say the Little Frogs were not as impressed as we'd hoped.

After Morning Meeting, we went to check the weather and discovered that it had stopped raining. So we donned our boots and raincoats and headed out in search of puddles.

At first, we could only find tiny ones.

We stopped to hide behind a tree to jump out and surprise Danielle, which was hysterically funny!

Then, some of the Frogs wanted to go back to the tennis courts, and they were fairly certain that they knew how to get there, so they led the way.

Friends helped Danielle figure out how to open the gate. All of the Frogs are learning how to use their words to be helpful to their friends.

We stopped to wave at some big kids.

We found some new places to hide and climb.

Then we discovered the Lower School library. It was filled with LOTS of books and an aquarium that had no fish (we will ask our friend Gwen, the librarian, about this when we see her). We read a book fresh from the shelf, and then headed back out.

Our last stop was the Pre-K/Kindergarten playground, where we got to try out a whole bunch of new playground toys with some of the Pre-K kids.

When we got back, we peeled off our wets boots and coats, and settled in for a well-deserved lunch.

  1. The Turtles were very excited to have the Frogs come for a show, and they were very proud to show off their skills. Perhaps a buddy system would work?...
