Welcome to the Little Frog Families!

This is the site of our Daily Frog Blog, and one of the ways you can keep up with all the exciting goings on in the Little Frog's classroom. Every day, we will post news about our activities, reflections about the things we are learning, and lots of pictures (and sometimes even mini-movies). On the right side of the blogs is a link called, "Follow by email." If you sign up for this, the blog will be sent directly to your inbox. We encourage you to invite extended family members and interested friends to follow our blog, too.

Movies and a Wet Walkabout

This morning began with reading, as close together as possible,

as well as some artistic expression.

We had a morning dance party, before we settled down for Morning Meeting.

Another beautiful Moment of Silence...

and then Hoppity showed up for another Stick Talk, and another challenging game of, "IS THIS A STICK?" Turns out things can be sticks AND something else. Like a pencil made out of a stick, and chopsticks. Very tricky.

We then discussed a new safety rule. Many of the Little Frogs like to tumble about a bit, and so do the Turtles. We learned that the Turtles have a rule that, if a friend doesn't want to tumble anymore, s/he can say, "Time Out!" and then friends quickly get off. The Frogs thought this was a good idea, and everyone wanted to take a turn to practice.

Then we headed down to the Turtle room for the premiere of our first movie: "The Little Frogs Tell Stories - Take One." This was a chance for the Frogs to see themselves on the big screen, and to get a clearer idea of what we were doing when we filmed yesterday.

It was wonderful to see the Little Frog's faces when they saw themselves.

Afterwords, we had snack and then headed out for a rainy walkabout. We found lots of mud puddles to jump in.

We also stopped to play a game of Invisible Baseball.

There were lots of cool things to find - new kinds of leaves and seeds and trees that are changing every day. Some of them, we discovered, are naked! We didn't even mind getting a little wet.

A Plague of Happiness

I am not certain what it was about today, but the Little Frog's room was struck by a plague of happiness. Now, it's not that we are not usually a pretty happy bunch, but today was exceptional - everyone was nearly bursting with happiness. So, whatever you folks did this morning before you brought your children to school, please do it again, and regularly.

There were many things to do today. Some new puzzles were out to challenge friends.

The easel was also enjoyed by most every Frog, and each friend had a chance to talk about their piece.

Next, the tripod came back out and it was time to begin filming.

Each friend took a turn as Camera Operator and as Storyteller. Tomorrow, we will have a chance to view our first video and see what we look like up on the Big Screen (in the Turtle room).

Next it was time for music with Jenny. We sang some old favorites as she played along on the guitar and drums. We also learned a song for Thanksgiving and Jenny sang us a book, called Sitting Down to Eat, which was enjoyed by all.

Another lovely Moment of Silence at Morning Meeting.

Then friends went out to enjoy the beautiful autumn day - we didn't even need our coats!

There was a Free Show in the parking lot with leaves blowing everywhere.

Some of the Frogs found a particularly large and interesting stick and brought it to show friends. We decided to use it for our stick house. We had our story outside, because we could, and then headed inside for lunch.

And the happiness continues.....
